The project consisted of a greenfield $37 million USD Lithium-Ion Battery recycling facility with sustainable technology using a 100 percent full circulatory system. The recycling facility collects raw materials (battery scrap, electric vehicle packs and modules) and processes these materials into a battery powder through discharging, dismantling, separating, grinding, and drying. Isomer supported the owner by working with the international technology provider to review the proposed equipment specifications and update them for compliance with required codes and standards. The team was responsible for the engineering and architecture basis of design development including scope of facilities, equipment list, site and equipment layout, and process, mechanical, electrical, and civil / structural / architecture input to support the contractor’s development of a project total installed cost (TIC) estimate.
