FEL2 front-end engineering design to evaluate a deficient vacuum seal water cooling loop at an existing molded fiber facility and replace an undersized cooling tower and supply pumps. Isomer worked with the Owner to evaluate theoretical vs. actual demand on the vacuum seal water cooling loop in order to most efficiently size the new system. The brownfield effort required a design that could be installed in parallel with plant operations, with minimal outage time allowed to bring the new system online. The scope of design included specification and layout of new equipment, piping and electrical system retrofits, new equipment support and access structures, and rework of existing civil underground utilities. Isomer developed a comprehensive FEL2 package to serve as basis for future project funding and implementation.
