Isomer was engaged to perform FEL-2 engineering for the ISBL scope of a developer’s first commercial facility producing 12,000 metric tons per year of proprietary electrolytes to strengthen the domestic supply chain for specialized battery electrolytes. Isomer’s scope included process, piping, and instrumentation and controls design. The team developed preliminary PFDs and P&IDs, equipment general arrangements, an equipment list, fluid service index, and a Basis of Design to advance project definition, support modular equipment vendors, and aid in ISBL contractor selection. The effort also delivered a Class IV capital cost estimate and included support to the OSBL contractor and permitting consultant. The team successfully balanced complex hazardous material requirements with an accelerated schedule, completing the work within the baseline budget and schedule.
