Isomer was initially engaged to perform front end engineering design services to retrofit an existing molded fiber facility vacuum system, aiming to increase both the total capacity and reliability of the operation. The team worked with the Owner to develop the project scope before ultimately producing an AACE Class 3 cost estimate to support the project funding request. Isomer proceeded directly into detailed design to expedite the order of long lead equipment to meet an aggressive startup date just 9 months in the future. The Isomer scope included the addition of a new vacuum pump, replacement of existing seal water system equipment, and a series of other bypasses to allow operational flexibility in upset conditions. Isomer remained engaged through the completion of the project, managing equipment procurement as well as the contractor bid and selection process. The project was completed on schedule and under budget while meeting all project objectives.
