Isomer provided detailed design engineering services in a design-build arrangement for a 60,000-square-foot roll finishing and shipping warehouse at an existing pulp and paper mill as part of a major modernization effort. Located adjacent to existing buildings, the facility was designed to expand storage capacity and enhance loadout capabilities for both truck and rail shipping. The project required extensive coordination with the owner, site logistics team, vendors, and the design-builder to address layout constraints and accommodate ongoing process changes. Isomer designed shoring to manage complex foundation installation challenges arising from existing site conditions and the region’s deep frost depth, and performed a structural review to assess the integrity of existing structures under new snow drift loads. Careful design and construction sequencing during challenging winter conditions ensured successful delivery aligned with overall project objectives.
