Isomer was engaged to investigate potential causes of significant vibration in a small section of dryer cans on an existing paper machine that were severely limiting overall production. Mechanical Vibration and Structural Dynamic subject matter experts reviewed available existing information and trends before ultimately traveling to the site to further inspect the machine. Isomer coordinated with an onsite third-party testing agency to gather the appropriate readings needed to identify a root cause and potential remediation. In addition, the team interviewed several operations staff and audited maintenance records and modifications to further inform the analysis. Isomer identified multiple potential causes and provided recommendations and suggested next steps in a summary report at the conclusion of the assessment.
