Strategic CAPEX Spending Plan Development

Isomer was engaged to develop a strategic capital expenditure (CAPEX) spending plan to allocate approximately $50MM over five years for an owner operating a mill more than 60 years old. At the project outset, the owner provided a list of over 50 potential projects for consideration. Isomer engineers visited the facility to collaborate with onsite personnel, align on scope parameters, and conduct field walks for each opportunity. A comprehensive planning matrix was created, detailing conceptual cost estimates, scope summaries, risk assessments, and preliminary investment return outlooks for each project. Summary findings, including benchmark comparisons with similar aging industrial facilities, were presented to the owner’s executive committee. The spending plan received formal approval shortly after the study’s completion, with plans for Isomer to remain engaged in future front-end engineering design (FEED) studies.
