Isomer was engaged to provide FEL3 engineering services for the core ISBL process on behalf of a developer commercializing a FOAK carbon capture and storage process, including CO2 compression, reaction/injection, solids handling and dosing, and associated utilities. The team worked collaboratively with the Owner to expand the initial heat and material balance from an existing TEA into a full set of equipment specifications, P&IDs, equipment layouts, and preliminary process island design. As data became available from the developer's existing pilot facility, Isomer worked with the Owner to incorporate changes informed by real-time performance, which, in some instances, resulted in changes to equipment technology. Isomer worked proactively to incorporate these updates within the original budget and submitted a complete FEL3 design package and AACE Class 3 capital cost estimate to the developer to support future project opportunities.
