EXPERIENCE

12,000 TPA Proprietary Electrolyte Facility FEL3

Isomer was engaged to perform FEL-3 engineering for the ISBL scope of a developer’s first commercial facility producing 12,000 metric tons per year of proprietary electrolytes to strengthen the domestic supply chain for specialized battery electrolytes. Isomer’s scope included process, piping, instrumentation, and controls design. The team developed P&IDs, equipment specifications, equipment list, equipment general arrangements, piping specifications, instrument index, specialty items list, Heat and Material Balance, selected key modular equipment vendors, and aided in ISBL contractor selection. The effort also supported air permitting activities and coordination with an OSBL design while also working through a value engineering phase to ensure the project would be delivered within the proposed budget. The team successfully balanced complex hazardous-material requirements and completed a preliminary Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP) for the First-Of-A-Kind battery electrolyte facility. Isomer worked with the client to develop a project schedule and coordinate with the OSBL contractor’s schedule. Isomer Project Group worked collaboratively with multiple key stakeholders to advance the project’s technical and execution maturity, supporting the client’s goals to deliver the project on budget and on schedule.
