Isomer performed a FEED study to evaluate the feasibility of installing pressure screening systems on existing stock approach loops at an ag-based pulp thermoforming facility. Molders in the existing thermoforming lines were experiencing high product reject rates, suspected to be caused by various contaminants in the stock approach system. Isomer worked with the OEM and owner to develop process flow diagrams and conceptual layouts, with the intent to design a system that could be modularized for the various stock approach loops. In addition to producing a full FEL2 design package and AACE Class 4 capital cost estimate, Isomer also recommended next steps to further identify and address sources of contamination through operational change before deploying capital on the stock screening systems.
