Ag-Based Coproduct Processing Trials & FEED Study

Isomer provided front end engineering and technology trials support for a liquor coproduct contaminant reduction system at an existing 30TPD ag-based pulp mill. Contaminants within the existing pulp mill liquor stream were negatively affecting the ability for the coproduct to meet the necessary specifications for a multitude of offsite end-uses. Isomer worked with the Owner to evaluate existing lab microscopy data to confirm potential equipment technology suitable for the removal or reduction of contaminant particle size. The team developed preliminary equipment data sheets and a trials specification document to serve as basis for an Isomer-led comprehensive trials program. Isomer evaluated a various inline mixing and colloid mill solutions before ultimately selecting the most technically viable technology and developing a rough order of magnitude capital cost estimate for the future process line retrofit.
