Cement Silos Loadout Improvement Study

Isomer provided engineering support for a site logistics study at an operating cement manufacturing plant to improve truck circulation and loadout efficiency at finished cement silos. The scope included evaluation of existing inbound and outbound truck routes and development of rough order of magnitude (ROM) pricing to support decision-making. Isomer analyzed traffic movements between the existing single hatching platform and truck wash facilities and developed a revised site layout to enable the addition of duplicate loadout platforms and washes, increasing throughput and operational flexibility. In addition, Isomer developed a conceptual layout to add rail loadout capability to an existing truck-only silo and performed a preliminary structural analysis to assess the foundation modifications required to support the retrofit. Preliminary site plans and ROM cost estimates were prepared to support the owner’s internal project approval process.
