Isomer Project Group was contracted by an investment firm to perform a technical due diligence review of an asset under construction that utilizes a novel process to separate and purify carbon dioxide from a waste stream generated at an on-site renewable natural gas facility (RNG). The scope of the engagement included review of the Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), equipment specifications, equipment sizing, control systems, energy requirements, useful life, and potential risks. Isomer Project Group also assessed the scalability of the core equipment and process and the suitability of the use of different waste gas streams while also performing a review of the developer’s portfolio of development assets. Isomer Project Group reviewed the RNG partner site to determine the viability of the site for the projected waste gas volumes. Additionally, these technical review items were incorporated into a project financial review, including a review of the project model and providing feedback on the technical inputs to the financial model. Isomer also performed a site visit to review the RNG facilities and the current construction progress.
