FEL-2 design to support upgrades to an existing linerboard paper machine roll handling line, including conveyors, a lowerator, and shipping floor conveyors for loading finished product rolls into railcars. Isomer coordinated with the owner and solicited pricing and layout proposals from two OEMs to inform equipment selection and configuration. The coordinated FEL-2 design leveraged existing in-floor conveyors from the current roll handling area to a new lowerator location to minimize capital cost and construction impacts. In addition to preliminary equipment arrangements, Isomer developed an AACE Class 4 estimate that included the installation of a lowering turntable at the roll handling conveyors, reactivation of conveyors with updated guarding and safety systems, and installation of a new lowerator at the existing shipping warehouse floor opening.
