Molded Fiber Expansion Preliminary Engineering

Isomer provided preliminary engineering services in support of a thermoforming capacity increase at an existing molded fiber production facility. The team evaluated two primary design cases: one constrained by existing utility infrastructure and the other limited by available space within the facility. A feasibility study and cost-benefit analysis were developed for each scenario before selecting a preferred base scope of work, which included extensive modeling and evaluation of improvements to the existing vacuum system. Isomer worked closely with the owner to develop a phased execution approach that balanced staggered OEM equipment deliveries with the plant’s outage schedule and broader business requirements. The effort culminated in a complete preliminary engineering package, including P&IDs, layouts, and an AACE Class 4 capital cost estimate, to support final project approval.
