Isomer was engaged to create a preliminary CAPEX cost model for the integration of a developer's novel turbine technology into chillers located at data centers. Isomer worked with the developer to review and validate several thermodynamic calculations, baselining operational performance for installation at a representative data center, with the outputs informing potential CAPEX savings from implementation. Isomer cross-referenced developer-provided data with available data center construction design and cost benchmarks, alongside historical construction costs for utility systems. The cost model included several inputs allowing the developer to adjust for project size, equipment performance, and risk tolerance, providing greater visibility into overall cost sensitivity for future project planning.
