Isomer performed FEL1 preliminary engineering for a first-of-a-kind 10 ktpa scale facility for electrochemical H2SO4 production. As part of the study and business case analysis, Isomer evaluated three alternatives for carbon capture via direct air capture (DAC) and point source capture into supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) in the process. Isomer provided input to the process flowsheet and material balance, developed preliminary sizing and pricing for major process equipment, estimated balance of plant and utility requirements, generated conceptual site layouts, and provided AACE Class 5 estimates for each process flowsheet. Isomer also provided a project summary final report, including a preliminary list of risks and red flags for the project team, recommending items for mitigation during further project development phases.
