EXPERIENCE

200K TPY Ultra-low Carbon Cement Commercial Scale Facility

Full-service conceptual design and site-selection support services were provided for a 200,000 TPY first-of-a-kind (FOAK) commercial-scale demonstration facility to manufacture next-generation cement. The project utilizes an electrochemical process to produce clean cement that serves as a functional replacement for ordinary portland cement in concrete. The study focused on co-locating this FOAK process at an existing cement plant to leverage underutilized raw mill and finish mill equipment and existing infrastructure, driving down capital cost and maximizing ROI. Isomer evaluated two candidate sites in the USA, along with a range of production scales, before selecting the highest-ROI site and scale. Isomer delivered a complete engineering package, including an equipment list, process flow diagrams, an infrastructure/utility summary, a site layout, and a capital cost estimate, and supported the development of the technical and commercial presentation used to secure stakeholder investment approval.
