Plant-Based Protein Facility Expansion

Isomer provided detailed design engineering services in support of a first-of-its-kind plant-based protein production facility, including sitewide civil engineering and utility distribution. The primary objective of the expansion was to increase biomass cultivation capacity to align with the maximum throughput of the onsite downstream processing unit. Isomer developed a comprehensive civil design covering more than 200 acres of the existing site, enabling the addition of over 50 new cultivation greenhouses. The team completed multiple iterations of site grading to minimize earthwork requirements, resulting in savings of more than 100,000 cubic yards of fill compared to initial concepts. Design was completed in just five weeks to allow the owner to meet year-end funding requirements and initiate construction within the desired timeframe.
