EXPERIENCE

1000 TPA Textiles Recycling Facility

Isomer performed FEL2 front-end engineering design for a first-of-a-kind 1000TPA facility ($15MM+ TIC) to recover monomers from spent textiles via a proprietary chemical recycling process, including scale-up from an existing lab-scale processes. The primary process design scope included raw material handling, hydrolysis, crystallization, filtration, and drying. Isomer also developed the accompanying utility system designs in support of the process areas. Prior to the completion of preliminary process design, Isomer led a comprehensive equipment technology selection study to ensure the economic and technical viability of equipment for each major unit operation. The facility will be located in an existing 50,000 square foot building, which required multiple studies concerning life safety, utility availability, and municipal ordinances to verify the adequacy of the building as part of the FEL2 study. Isomer also provided technical input to Owner-provided financial models.
