Isomer provided full-service Detailed Design Engineering for an $80MM TIC new anaerobic/aerobic wastewater treatment system at an existing linerboard mill, building on the completed FEL3 package. Working closely with the vendor supplying the treatment technology and the Inside Battery Limits design, Isomer led the Balance of Plant process design and equipment procurement, and completed the foundation, steel, piping, and electrical/instrumentation construction deliverables. The team overcame design challenges associated with infrastructure upgrades and the spatial constraints of a repurposed building, and navigated external hurdles related to adjustments to procurement strategy, differing state and federal stormwater permits, railroad design requirements, and vendor information delays. Isomer aligned engineering and construction work packages and supported the competitive bid process with the Construction Manager to kick off construction while successfully completing final design for the project.
