Tank Farm and Warehouse Conceptual Engineering

Isomer performed front-end conceptual engineering for a study evaluating alternatives to develop a new finished-product tank farm at an existing chemical manufacturing facility. The objective was to replace an end-of-life field-erected storage tank with a more cost-effective configuration of shop-fabricated tanks while minimizing disruption to ongoing plant operations. The study assessed layout concepts that placed the new tank farm outside the active process area, allowing installation and tie-ins without interrupting production. Isomer's alternatives analysis compared multiple building configurations, including open-tank installations, fully enclosed tank structures, and options enclosing both the tank farm and the adjacent rail loading area. The evaluation considered constructibility, operational impact, safety, capital cost, and long-term flexibility to support informed investment decisions.
